Happy Friday everyone! I got my wish! It has cooled down in Florida. The weather has inspired me to put together this post containing some winter wardrobe basics. Each piece I chose for today’s post can be mixed and matched in any combination. Cool soft hues like cream, grey, and pale pinks are catching my eye right now. I also love combining navy and grey. Navy is a good alternative to pairing everything with black. Remember I’m trying more color this year, and that doesn’t necessarily mean bright bold colors. Texture also plays such huge factor in a well put together look. This time of year has me reaching for cable knit sweaters. I love the soft billowy texture and curvy patterns that cable knit sweaters have. For the winter time they serve both form and function, style and purpose. What are some the winter wardrobe basics hanging in your closet?

Cable Knit Sweaters in Pink, White, & Grey are winter weather must haves. As I mentioned, I love the look and feel of these sweaters. A pair of Black Booties this season are a must for running errands, and can even be dressed up for work. Every girl’s gotta have a pair of skinny jeans. I think that these Skinny Jeans in Grey & Medium Wash are perfect for pairing with any of the other lovely pieces in this post. Comfy Gloves to keep those fingers warm are a necessity. My ears are always the first thing to get really cold, and this Faux Mink Headband would sure help mitigate that frosty breeze! A neutral colored Satchel like this one is perfect for everyday, from work to an after work happy hour.
This Navy & Grey Cape is a simple way to look stylish. Comfortable and chic is the way go! What can I say about this Packable Puffer Jacket? Only that a co-worker of my husband’s was making fun of puffer jackets until she moved to St. Louis. She wondered why everyone was wearing one until they got a cold spell. Then she knew that the puffer jacket was going to be her best friend. Personally, I love how soft and fluffy they feel. I imagine this Grey Padded Jacket would come in handy for those very cold days. Staying cozy as can be is so important. This Tartan Plaid Scarf from Forever 21 is only $13. I know that it is labeled as a man’s scarf, but I love the colors in the plaid pattern. I think this would look amazing with a cream or white colored cable knit sweater, like the one above. I LOVE beanies this season! I can’t get enough of them. This Faux Fur Cable Knit Beanie is just too cute. And, lastly, a pair of Riding Boots are perfect for treading the cold weather; rain, sleet, or snow.
I also wanted to give everyone an update on my hand. The x-ray I had yesterday showed no broken bones. My orthopedic doctor thinks I sprained it badly. He mentioned that sometimes a sprain can also lead to broken blood vessels, hence the swelling and severe bruising. Since my right hand has more pain from both trigger finger and carpel tunnel, I’ve started to depend on my left hand so much more. I guess I seriously over used my left hand over the holidays. Hopefully, I’ll be back to normal within a week or two.
Thank you so much for reading! Stay warm, and have a fabulous weekend!
