Disney World’s California Grill

Happy Friday Everyone!

Last Saturday Mike and I went to the California Grill to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  The restaurant is located at the top of Disney World’s Contemporary Resort.  The allure of the restaurant for me was its panoramic views of the Magic Kingdom.  As you can see, the view at sunset was breathtaking with the sun shining over the castle.

We tried to keep the night out short because my hand was still very swollen from the trigger finger shot the day before.  I tried to enjoy a glass of my favorite white wine, Mer Soleil Chardonnay.  Mike sampled a few red wines until settling on an Italian wine I can’t remember the name of.  We shared a few small plates to keep it simple.  We started with a cheese plate, followed by meatballs and a charcuterie plate.  I think my favorite thing of the night, besides the view and the company of my handsome husband, was the duck pâté from the charcuterie plate.  I wasn’t feeling well so I opted out of dessert.  That is a true testament that I wasn’t feeling well because I never miss dessert!  I’m always in the mood for chocolate!  Unfortunately, we left early and missed the fireworks.  I guess that means that we’ll need to make another visit to the California Grill to try the dessert and enjoy the fireworks display.  Sounds like a plan to me.  😉
