Mike and I like to go out to dinner on the weekends.  This look is from last weekend and was shot on our way to dinner.  We tried out a new place on Park Avenue called Boca.  There is also a new lounge that opened above the restaurant called Park Avenue Social.  Both were interesting, but we’ll have to try it again once they are serving their full menu.  It was just a soft opening; so, they were only serving a few items.  Once I try more, I’ll give you the scoop.

I hope you enjoy this look.  These are some of my favorite new pieces.  The WHBM jacket I found on sale is stunning.  I absolutely adore it and have worn it like this, and dressed up a bit more with a black pencil skirt for meetings.  I’m always impressed at how each season they deliver on such beautiful, elegant clothing that remains on trend.

I have to admit that this post was difficult for me.  I received another round of shots to my right hand yesterday.  You can read more about my battle with carpel tunnel, trigger finger, and dupuytren’s  contracture HERE.  My hand is still swollen and sore.  So, I won’t be able to answer comments and visit fellow bloggers for a little while.  I’m very sorry, but please bear with me for a bit!  I struggled, but I finished just this post and tomorrow’s.  Let’s cross our fingers (figuratively not literally because I can’t now) that I’ll be better soon and back on track!

Thank you for reading!

Health Update

I’m so sorry for the lack of posts lately.  I still haven’t gotten into a good routine and I’m still struggling with various health issues.  So, I thought I’d give everyone a short update on my progress.

Unfortunately, I have three separate issues with my hands.  I have carpal tunnel, trigger finger, and Dupuytren’s disease.  Sounds crazy doesn’t it?  Here are a few links if you are curious:

Carpal Tunnel (CTS)

Dupuytren’s

Trigger Finger

Nerve Conduction Study

Flash back a year or so ago, I was getting serious pain in my hands, fingers, wrists, and arms.  It started gradually and built up to the point I had to do something.  My family doctor sent me to a specialist for a nerve conduction study.  What in the world is that?  Check out the link above for more information.  The results came back that I only had mild carpel tunnel in both hands.  I couldn’t believe they were saying it was very mild because of the pain I was experiencing.

I waited almost two months to see a hand and upper extremity specialist.  I received my first shot for carpel tunnel then.  Six months later I received another shot for carpel tunnel.  A few weeks later I went back in because the pain was persisting.  At that time, physical therapy was prescribed because Dupuytren’s was diagnosed.  The thought was that the therapy would help loosen the cord that formed along the web space between my index finger and thumb.  I started physical therapy and searched for another physician for a second opinion.  And, then, I was diagnosed with the third problem…trigger finger.  Oh, and I have ligament laxity.  Basically, I can hyper-extend my elbows.  It can lead to tendonitis in my arms if I’m not careful.  Yes, I know, what a mess!

Last Friday I received a shot in my right hand for trigger finger and I’m still recovering from that.  I was very swollen for about three days.  As of yesterday, I have better range of motion in my hand and fingers.  I’m still sore, especially in the index finger and knuckle area.  I decided that I would attempt typing today!  I’m not feeling too much pain but, I’ve only been on the computer for about an hour.  I’m gauging how this goes to see if I need a shot in my left hand too.

I tried to keep this very short so that I wouldn’t bore anyone to tears with medical mumbo-jumbo.  If you’re reading this please send positive thoughts this way!  I need everything I can get!  I’m hoping that this is the last leg of this long and painful journey.
