Blue on Blue

I love the color blue.  If you’ve followed my blog for a bit you’ll have seen shades of blue over and over again.  Sorry, but I can’t help it!  I gravitate towards it.  I was always hesitant to wear a blue tee and jeans together.  Over the weekend I wore this outfit.  I think it worked by keeping it simple, and adding some classic accessories.  My belt and sandals were a perfect match.  The sandals are on sale right now under $15, but hurry before they sell out!  And, to finish the look, my favorite clutch.

On a more personal note, for those of you wondering how my recovery from hand surgery is going, I’m healing very well.  All the bruising and swelling is almost gone.  I still struggle with gripping and holding things.  I also have a lot of stiffness.  All that is normal and can take months to completely fade.  I am very thankful that everything seems to be moving along, and pretty soon I’ll be better than new!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely day!

Casual in Camo

Happy Friday!  Can you say messy hair just don’t care?  Obviously I can!  I’m still recovering slowly from surgery, and had five stitches removed from the palm of my hand last week.  When this look was shot I still couldn’t do simple things very well (like wash or comb my hair).  Mike actually had to comb & put up my hair.  I give him an A for effort!

It was also pretty tough getting dressed.  So, I’ve opted for really casual, simple outfits.  This eyelet shirt is one of my favorites lately.  It is on clearance under $7, and is still available in all sizes (not for long)!  I’ve also put away some of my larger handbags, and have stuck to this light weight Linea Pelle crossbody.  I’m really obsessed with it because of how lightweight and versatile it is.

I’d love to hear about some of your casual go to looks.  Please feel free to share what casual looks you’re loving.

My Instagram Outfit of the Day – Belted Shirt Dress

Instagram Outfit of the Day OOTD Belted Shirtdress with Nude Pumps Linea Pelle Belt  Shirt dress (sold out, but fabulous options here, here, here, and here) | Belt c/o Linea Pelle | Nude Pumps (options here, here, & here)

Hope you are having a great start to your week.  I just wanted to do a quick share of my Instagram outfit of the Day.  This is one look I repeat over and over again, a belted shirt dress with nude pumps.  It is simple, comfortable, and stylish.  Right now, because I had surgery on my hand a few weeks ago, comfort is the most important thing to me.  I keep gravitating towards anything that is simple to put on, and no fuss throughout the day.  This particular dress is sold out, but I’ve linked a bunch of amazing options for you.  And, this chambray shirt dress is also one of my favorites.

Today I wanted to share a very simple, classic dress worn two ways.  Styling a favorite piece, like this dress, in different ways is something we all have in common.  However, sometimes I struggle with picking the right pieces that can transition from one season to another.  I struggle with it because the warm weather  in Florida really doesn’t give much of a change in seasons.  I always feel that I look like I’m dressed for summer.  So, I challenged myself to create two looks with one dress.

This Dorothy Perkins striped dress (on sale under $25!) is one of the newest items in my closet.  I chose this piece because it was so versatile, and would allow me to transition my style from summer to fall.  My first look illustrates a simple summer look with the addition of these gladiator sandals.  In the coming months, I’ll be moving on from summer sandals to more substantial footwear that yearns for crisp fall days.  The fall in Florida is still warm, but pairing a vest (on sale under $50!) and booties gives a fall vibe without adding too many layers.  To finish off both looks, try a few simple accessories like this ring and this perfect little cross-body handbag.

How do you style your favorite items from look to look or season to season?

Outfit of the Day: Embroidered Wrap and Shift Dress

Shift Dress c/o Dorothy Perkins  |  Embroidered Wrap c/o Dorothy Perkins  |  Belt c/o Linea Pelle  |  Michael Antonio Shoes | Rebecca Minkoff Clutch (similar here)  |  Alex & Ani Bracelets  |  Bracelet c/o Henri Bendel

Today, I’m very excited to share two distinct looks with some amazing pieces from Dorothy Perkins and Linea Pelle.  It was so much fun styling this pretty shift dress.  So much so that I had to do two separate looks for this blog post.  One is super simple, but is elegant enough for a date night.  The second looks plays up (and warms up) the shift dress with an embroidered wrap and belt.  Which one is your favorite?

I have some black and white out takes to share too.  Take a look…

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely day!
