This week is flying by, and I can’t seem to catch up!  I’m still trying to think of some nice gifts for my husband’s birthday that is coming up later this month.  And, Valentine’s Day is almost here!  For today’s post, I was trying to put together a date night Valentine’s look that didn’t involve red.  Easier said than done, as I wanted something that was still feminine and colorful.  I chose my new favorite midi skirt.  I love the color and pattern of the skirt, and thought that this fuchsia blouse was the perfect touch.

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?  And, what do you plan on wearing?

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have an amazing day!

Who is ready for New Year’s Eve?  While I’m not sure I’m completely ready for this year to come to a close, I know that I have my #NYE #ootd ready to go.  I’ve been waiting to wear this amazing midi skirt for a while now.  This pattern has caught my attention time after time while holiday shopping.  I now own a comfy sweater and a shirt with the same pattern.  So, you can imagine that when I saw this midi skirt with a built-in jeweled belt, it was love at first sight.  All ready to get dressed up, and not a clue where we are going.  I have to laugh because I was so excited to put together a look for the last day of 2014, but we don’t have definitive plans yet.  Maybe we’ll just dress up for each other and stay in.  Nothing like a romantic evening at home to finish off the year.

XOXO, Maria

Black Midi Skirt and Red Blouse

Feliz Noche Buena (Merry Christmas Eve) everyone! I’m so excited about going to my Mom’s house for our traditional Noche Buena feast.  For tonight’s gathering I’m probably going to wear my red lace dress or red tulle skirt, as I wore the outfit on today’s post to Church this past Sunday.  I fell in love with this skirt as soon as I saw it, and I nabbed the last one on black Friday.  But, I’ve found some alternatives that look similar to the one I’m wearing.  I’ve also found one that is almost identical, the only difference I can see is that it is a little shorter.  It’s on sale right now for under $30!  The lovely red blouse was a TJ Maxx last season, raise your hand if you are a #maxxinista.  A soft silk or chiffon red blouse adds elegance without being too fussy.  You’ve heard me say modern classic, and here it is.  The top is a very classic style and color, the skirt is a retro silhouette brought forward by the window pane organza fabric, and the caged heels fall into current trends.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve.  Have a blessed and joyous holiday!

Feliz Noche Buena  –  Merry Christmas Eve

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their week and that today’s look inspires you.  I found both the crop top and midi skirt featured above at Target.  The pattern and fit of these pieces immediately caught my eye.  Paired with a nude heel and black clutch, this is a perfect date night outfit.  Want to wear this during the weekday for work?  Transform the look and feel of this outfit by topping it off with a simple black blazer.  So, whether you’re looking for work wear or weekend inspiration, hop on over to Target to see what fashionable styles you find for your next adventure.

Style Stalker – Accordion Skirts

Everyone is starting to talk about fall fashion and leaving behind summer style.  I’m actually holding on to summer tightly.  I just don’t want to let go this year.  Usually, fall is my favorite time of year with the cooler weather and the reintroduction of pumpkin spice lattes and hot chocolates.  What’s the hurry?  How about a few more weeks of weekend trips to the beach and dressing in pretty flowing skirts or dresses?

I noticed that the midi accordion skirt has been popular on a number of style blogs.  For me, this type of skirt is a fun and classy way to dress in the last days of summer.  So, let’s enjoy  just a little bit longer.  Pretty please.
