I love the color blue.  If you’ve followed my blog for a bit you’ll have seen shades of blue over and over again.  Sorry, but I can’t help it!  I gravitate towards it.  I was always hesitant to wear a blue tee and jeans together.  Over the weekend I wore this outfit.  I think it worked by keeping it simple, and adding some classic accessories.  My belt and sandals were a perfect match.  The sandals are on sale right now under $15, but hurry before they sell out!  And, to finish the look, my favorite clutch.

On a more personal note, for those of you wondering how my recovery from hand surgery is going, I’m healing very well.  All the bruising and swelling is almost gone.  I still struggle with gripping and holding things.  I also have a lot of stiffness.  All that is normal and can take months to completely fade.  I am very thankful that everything seems to be moving along, and pretty soon I’ll be better than new!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely day!

I’m sharing a fun graphic print tee today.  This pretty much sums me up when I start getting hungry.  A little moody, a little irritable until I get some food.  It runs in the family.  I guess that’s why my mother has always tried to push food at everyone as soon as they walk in the door.  No one is every Hangry at my mom’s, lol.

Today I wanted to share a very simple, classic dress worn two ways.  Styling a favorite piece, like this dress, in different ways is something we all have in common.  However, sometimes I struggle with picking the right pieces that can transition from one season to another.  I struggle with it because the warm weather  in Florida really doesn’t give much of a change in seasons.  I always feel that I look like I’m dressed for summer.  So, I challenged myself to create two looks with one dress.

This Dorothy Perkins striped dress (on sale under $25!) is one of the newest items in my closet.  I chose this piece because it was so versatile, and would allow me to transition my style from summer to fall.  My first look illustrates a simple summer look with the addition of these gladiator sandals.  In the coming months, I’ll be moving on from summer sandals to more substantial footwear that yearns for crisp fall days.  The fall in Florida is still warm, but pairing a vest (on sale under $50!) and booties gives a fall vibe without adding too many layers.  To finish off both looks, try a few simple accessories like this ring and this perfect little cross-body handbag.

How do you style your favorite items from look to look or season to season?

The Perfect Airport Outfit for Your Next Adventure

The-Perfect-Airport-Outfit-Comfortable-ando-Chicone | two | three | four | five | six | seven

Mike and I are on vacation, and packing for our journey was an adventure in and of itself.  The master bedroom looked like a clothing war zone.  I think a landmine hit my closet,  and shot out every article of clothing onto the bed and floor.  Trying to decide the perfect look for each and every day just created this mess that I didn’t know how to recover from.  It’ll still be there waiting for me when we get back because I couldn’t fit everything in one suitcase.  Through all the turmoil, the one, and only thing I had well thought out was what I was going to wear to the airport.

Traveling, whether for work or pleasure, can be exhausting.  Isn’t that the truth?  Long lines through security, flight delays, and hours on a plane can take a heavy toll on each of us.  So, being prepared by wearing the most comfortable and versatile outfit is a must.  I’ve learned over the years that being uncomfortable, like on a 10 hour flight to Europe, can be prevented.  With just a few pieces that can be layered, long airport line and in flight naps are so much more pleasurable.

I’ve laid out the perfect seven pieces.  You’ll be able run through crowds to catch that connecting flight in the a pair of these sneakers.  Carrying everything you need in a durable tote is a must, as your bag is going to get squished and/or thrown around.   As I mentioned, layering is important.  I’ve come to the conclusion that I need a light jacket and sweater everywhere I go, as I tend to get cold easily.  Lastly, is the perfect combo of a tee-shirt and jeans.  Soft supple cotton to lounge around in is everyone’s dream.

Safe, and chic, travels my friends!

The Most Comfortable & Chic Pieces to Update Your Wardrobe

Comfortable-Beautiful-Chic-Wardrobe-PiecesWhite Off Shoulder Blouse  |  Delicate Necklace  |  Black Ruffle Shirt Reversible Tote  |  Maxi Dress  |  Gingham Dress  |  Sandals

When you stare into your closet do you find it hard to pull together comfortably stylish pieces? Do you say to yourself “I have nothing to wear”? I think we all go through that once a season, or even much more than that. We think of the perfect outfit to pull together, put it on, and throw it right back off.  Yes, we’ve all been there.  I’ve actually been experiencing this more and more lately.  I’ve asked myself why over and over again.  I think I’ve come up with THE answer.

We fall prey to many trends, and let that take precedence over comfort.  Too much color?  Too much pattern?  Too much intricate detailing?  Sometimes, we just need to fall back into a pattern of wearing what is simple.  Playing up closet staples with just a touch of the new.  Because at the end of the day we all just want to be comfortable, and look effortlessly chic too!

Blogging has made me more and more adventurous with my style choices.  Is it horrible to admit I miss simple silhouettes and black & white clothing?  I don’t think it is (I hope it’s not).  And, that’s why I’ve decided head back into the direction of timeless wardrobe items that I love.  I’ve started with this group of amazingly comfortable pieces.  I hope you enjoy them!

Classic, comfortable, & chic!
